Alessandro heads the ABIL office in Brussels, where he offers his extensive expertise in the field of financial institutions and his legal approach to insurance contracts.

He began his career with a renowned international insurance company. Between 2007 and 2014, he held various positions there, such as product developer, risk underwriter, and finally head of the ‘financial lines’ insurance department dedicated to financial institutions in Belgium and Luxembourg. Before joining ABIL, he also worked as a legal counsel in two banking groups, specializing in capital markets, M&A transactions, and outsourcing.

Alessandro holds a Master’s degree in law from the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium) and is fluent in French, English, Dutch, and Italian.

Philippe is the Managing Director of ABIL in Luxembourg, which he founded in November 2016. He is specifically involved in advising clients on risk structuring and negotiating their contracts with specialist insurers.
He acquired this expertise after working in various positions for more than 20 years, including:

  • Life and non-life insurance broker for individuals and companies;
  • Underwriter of operational risks for financial institutions;
  • Broker of reinsurance treaties;
  • Head of the insurance program and operational risk management for a Luxembourg banking group operating in 10 European countries;
  • Managing Director of an international insurance company in Luxembourg;

Philippe holds a master’s degree in economics from UCL-Mons (Belgium) and a master’s degree in financial risk management from the University Saint-Louis (Belgium). He is also a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute.
